No question: I wish I could be in Dusseldorf now. As a silent guest of the Videocamp and the Webvideoprize Gala 2012.
Okay: For generation Youtube I’m somebody like a grandmother :) But they were friendly to me at my first videocamp in september 2011. And it was a good inspiration after years in public broadcasting. I learnt a lot – not technically, but how they teach and influence eachother for a new visual language of filmmaking.
Webvideo and Youtube have other aesthetic categories than the broadcasting media. Smartphones, Camcorder and Consumer products for less money than before make it easy for everybody to start filming. The right white balance, stabile pictures with correct focus and a good sound – not as important as uniqueness and creativity.
The German Webvideoprize 2012 is the best sign for the challenge of Webvideo and Youtube for classic broadcasting industry in Germany. I guess it´s a proof for mediashift in visual information and entertainment worldwide. That´s why I storified the main facts and reports … in German (for every other language please use Google translator)
